Fix My Worn Teeth

We create beautifully shaped crowns that match the colour of your own teeth, improve the appearance of teeth and which will protect a tooth from sustaining further damage.

What is a crown?

Crowns are tailor-made restorations that address decay and damage. They fit over the top of the tooth in need of treatment, restoring both function and aesthetic.

What to expect when getting a crown

The area around the tooth will be numbed, so you should not experience any discomfort. The tooth is prepared to make space for the crown and any damaged or decayed areas of the tooth are removed.

An impression of the tooth is taken, so that the crown can be accurately made to look like your own teeth. With our state-of-the-art iTero machine we can perform a simple scan of the mouth, avoiding the need for traditional messy impressions, before placing a temporary crown.

At the next visit, your crown is then permanently fixed in place over the prepared tooth, allowing you to bite down and eat as normal again.

Take a look at the animated video below to see how crowns are created and placed.

Why crowns?

  • Our well-made crowns look and feel like natural teeth.
  • Improve the appearance of teeth when you smile.
  • Restore badly broken down teeth.
  • Protect vulnerable teeth from further fractures or chips.
  • We use high-quality and durable materials for your crowns.
  • Crowns can be used to improve the appearance of large unsightly silver metal fillings.

Aftercare

Aftercare tips to note after getting a crown to include:

  • Avoid biting your lip and tongue if it is numb after the treatment.
  • Keep the crown clean by brushing twice per day as you would a normal tooth and flossing in between the teeth.
  • We recommend seeing the hygienist every 6 months to keep the area around the crown clear of plaque and ensure the gum stays healthy around it.
