Fix My Chipped Teeth

For decades, veneers have been associated with transforming patients’ smiles and confidence. A long-lasting and versatile treatment, it’s no wonder veneers remain popular today.

What is a veneer?

Made from slender sheets of porcelain that fit over the front surface of a tooth, veneers are used to shield the appearance of cracks, chips, stains and gaps on and between your teeth. The porcelain material from which veneers are made is an amazingly close match for real tooth enamel, which makes them indistinguishable from real teeth.

What to expect from getting a veneer

Once the veneers have been planned, only 2 visits are necessary for treatment.

During the first visit, a small amount of tooth enamel is removed (the same amount as the thickness of the veneer) to create room for it. This is usually performed under local anaesthetic, so you will not experience any discomfort. Once the tooth has been prepared, we will take a scan of your teeth to send to the dental lab and record the shade of your teeth, so it will blend seamlessly in as part of your smile. Once your permanent veneer is back from the lab, the temporary veneer will be replaced with the new porcelain veneer.
